Active Warrant Search in Alachua County, Florida

Warrants authorize law enforcement actions—such as a search of a premises/property or apprehension of an individual—that would otherwise violate a person's constitutional rights. In Alachua County, local trial courts (Circuit and County Courts) frequently issue search, bench, and arrest warrants.

Under Fla. R. Gen. Prac. & Jud. Admin. 2.420(c)(6), unserved warrants and their supporting affidavits, as retained by courts, are strictly confidential. Similarly, F.S. §§ 119.011(3) and 119.071 (2)(c)(1) exclude active criminal investigative information, such as active warrant data, from public dissemination to prevent suspects from escaping or to avoid compromising ongoing/upcoming investigations.

However, when executed and returned, warrants are considered open records per Florida's Sunshine Law and Rule 2.420.
